Cathodic Protection
Helping clients & owners improve asset utilization by providing steel infrastructure protection via installation of cathodic protection systems is what EXARO does.- Install galvanic and impressed current systems (shallow and deep well) on any type of steel structure including water reservoirs, buildings, water and gas pipelines, bridges, parking structures.
- EXARO also provides turnkey design/installation services by partnering with our corrosion engineering firm.
- Cathodic protection is an engineered method of controlling and slowing down metal corrosion thereby extending the useful service life of an asset.
- The method requires another metal to be sacrificed in place of the metal under protection; this sacrificial metal is referred to as the anode.
There are two types of cathodic protection systems:
- Passive and sacrificial
- Dynamic requires an external DC current to operate
